DESCRIPTION:<p>We are delighted to welcome Saint Verde Farmhouse to Blackwood's Open Mi
 dlands Gardens for the very first time. They will be open on Sat 17 &amp; S
 un 18 October.</p><p>Set amongst the beautiful landscape of the Dargle Vall
 ey, this enchanting garden brings together French-inspired courtyard garden
 s, elements of the traditional English garden and a wonderfully atmospheric
  Karoo-style succulent garden.</p><p>The garden unfolds around historic sto
 ne buildings and an elegant glass conservatory, creating a series of intima
 te and beautifully considered spaces. Established trees frame secluded cour
 tyards, while formal planting, raised beds and a tranquil water feature pro
 vide moments of structure and symmetry.</p><p>Beyond these more formal gard
 en rooms, the landscape opens into indigenous forest, rivers, dams and swee
 ping valley views, offering a wonderful contrast between cultivated garden 
 and the natural beauty of the surrounding countryside.</p><p>One of the gar
 den's particular highlights is its Karoo-inspired succulent garden, where a
 n intriguing collection of succulents creates a landscape of texture, form 
 and sculptural beauty. Visitors will also have the opportunity to explore t
 he beautiful glass conservatory, brought to the farm all the way from Franc
 e.</p><p>The story of Saint Verde Farmhouse is woven into the property itse
 lf. An 18th-century stone barn has been transformed into the farmhouse, whi
 le the farm shop offers a beautiful collection of ceramics created on the p
 roperty by Hazel’s Daughter, together with dinnerware, fabrics, linens, ant
 iques and furniture.</p><p>Garden furniture, pastries and refreshments will
  also be available during the Open Garden. A garden of contrasts, history a
 nd remarkable atmosphere, and a beautiful new addition to the Blackwood's O

  before Piggly Wiggly) and continue for 14.4 km. At the sign post for 'Sain
 t Verde or Hazel's Daughter' turn right onto D666. Continue for approximate
 ly 1.8 km. Your destination will be on the left.</p><p>Entrance Fee: R10p/p
