Braco Garden Open
Braco farm was established by n ewlyweds Campbell and Camilla Shaw in 1905. Successive generations have ten ded and developed this farm and notably the gardens. Mention must be made o f Yvonne Shaw (wife of Rev Victor Shaw) and her son William Shaw, who lovin gly developed the gardens from the 1970s. The farm is now owned and managed by the Braco Trust. The trustees are primarily members of the family commi tted to maintaining Braco (the farmhouse, gardens, indigenous bush and farm lands) as a magnificent heritage. We see ourselves as custodians of this st unning portion of the Karkloof. We want to share this heritage with anyone who would like to visit. There are 12 acres to explore. At the moment there are 500 camellia trees flowering and early flowering azaleas as well as bu lbs coming up.
We will be open from 9am-5pm on the last Saturday and Sunday of the next few months (24 & 25 July, 28 & 29 August, 25 &am p; 26 September, 30 & 31 October 2021).
The cost for visitors is R50 per car.
Tea, coffee and eats on sale or bring your own picnic.
