In Grade 6 Howick Prep pupils are currently learning about caring for others and our community. The pupils and teachers of Grade 6 identified Mrs Mncube, who lives in our Howick community and looks after 14 orphans in her home. The Grade 6 pupils decided to help her and arranged a collection of items that could be of use on a daily basis i.e clothes, food, toiletries, toys and books. Greendale Spar kindly donated a R400 food hamper consisting of rice, sugar, mielie meal, tin food and biscuits and the Grapevine contributed two cakes and bread for the children of the orphanage.
On Wednesday, 03rd September a school bus and bakkie full of boxes of donated goods was delivered Mrs Mncube at her orphanage. Thank you to our grade 6 pupils and parents for caring and assisting people within our community who are less fortunate than others!
The photograph was taken at the orphanage with some of the Howick Prep pupils alongside the children of the orphanage.
