Our thanks go to our sponsors, J Leslie Smith Inc & The Health Nut for this week's tabs-in competition which took place on Wednesday, 25 February. The winners were Barbara Brook, Trevor James and Jo Boonzaier. The runners-up were Brian Ellison, Piet van Rensburg and Pat Ciro. Lucky draw prizes went to Peter Burton and Bernice Burden, our respective vice-president and president.
The league teams experienced mixed fortunes in their final games with the men beating Hilton and the ladies losing to Howick.
THIS WEEK – British bowlers join us on the green. On Saturday afternoon and on Sunday we will be joined by 55 tourists from the UK (the Herts Nomads) who will be playing their first match in KZN at our club. The number of bowlers playing against the British bowlers on Sunday is bolstered by players from Hilton and Howick Bowling Clubs who were invited to join us at Umgeni Waterfall for the day. Play is due to commence at 09h00. A 'spider' will be held after lunch with proceeds going to two local children's institutions.
Members of Umgeni Waterfall are reminded to bring along eats and/or snacks on Saturday and Sunday. Members are also requested to supply goods for a raffle.
Club colours or white shirts are to be worn on Sunday.
