A number of sponsored events took place this week but the wet weather did mean that one event had to be postponed.
On Wednesday, 11 November the tabs-in competition sponsored by Halfway Toyota Howick took place. The winners of the competition were Rita Aitken, Colin Joosten and Barry Fairbrother. The runners up were Ray Bester, Margie Holl and Alan Pienaar. Thanksis extended to Halfway Toyota Howick for their continued sponsorship.
Friday, 13 November proved to be a good day for many members of our club when the annual club event sponsored by Warwick Wealth took place. Prizes were generous and many members went home with slighty heavier wallets. The overall winners of the drawn 2-4-2 event were Balf Balfour and Dave Riall. Second prize was won by Ray Bester and Stella Gardiner. Third and fourth prizes were won by Piet van Rensburg and Barry Fairbrother and by Graeme Cameron and Julia Strachan. The plate event was won by Margie Holl and Graham Sharp. Second place went to Jo Boonzaier and Mavis Robson. Third and fourth prizes went to Bernice Burden and Pat Ciro and to Tony Gage and Peter Little. Prizes were presented by Stuart Milligan and Conrad Clifford who represented Warwick Wealth. We thank Warwick Wealth for their generosity.
The tabs-in competition sponsored by The Lawnmower Shop, Giovision and Greendale Spar due to take place on Saturday 14 November was postponed due to the welcome rain which fell on our parched greens. This event will now take place on Saturday, 21 November and will be followed by our annual prize-giving.
In the NIBA fours, the team of Colin Burden, Mike Scheffer, Piet van Rensburg and Clark Logan will take part in the playoffs next Sunday, 22 November at Maritzburg Bowling Club.
Members please check club notice boards or contact Colin and Bernice Burden for details of prize giving.
