We have a number of fundraisers on the go at the moment. The Midlands Meander Charity Golf Day in aid of FreeMe KZN will take place at Boschoek Golf Club Balgowan on the 20th of May 2016. Hilton Round Table has pledged their support in seeking donations for our centre. Lofty O’Connor,of Amber Valley, and ‘Four legged friends’ are organising an evening of entertainment at the Amber Valley auditorium on Monday the 2nd of May 2016. William Silk of Michaelhouse will be conducting the KZN Midlands Youth Choir and St Anne’s Vocal Ensemble. Watch out for the advertisements and booking information. The Investors Club are investigating possible sponsorship for FreeMe KZN which will be absolutely wonderful if they are successful.
We have tripled our membership thanks to Gill Anderson and Heather Findlay.
We have a new staff member, Ms Corne Buys, who is involved in our Lotto funded Outreach Program. Her position is funded by the Lottery Commission and will add great value to our organisation. The outreach project is being run by Wade and it is our goal to reach thousands of children and pass on and nurture the vital message of nature conservation and wildlife rehabilitation.
A big thank you goes to Peter Muirhead for donating a large quantity of clothing for our shop. Likewise to Clare van Daele who donated R 900-00 raised in lieu of presents for her 60th birthday. She also kindly donated a quantity of dog food. Honorary Life Membership has been conferred on Pam Brink for many years of selfless volunteer work in creating the wonderful gardens at FreeMe KZN. We are also very grateful to Carol Kopp for her total commitment to our four orphaned baby antelope. Thanks also to Bill Whitehead for all the time he has spent at FreeMe sorting out a myriad of snags. A big thanks to Deryck Day and the Greater Ambers Natural Resources Club for their monthly donation.
As always we are extremely grateful to our dedicated staff who work long hours to ensure the best possible care for our patients.
Thank you all for your support and generosity, we rely entirely on public donations as we do not receive any government or local government grants or assistance. It is the public who own FreeMe KZN, without you we cannot survive.
