Earwax, also called cerumen, is made by the body to protect the ears and has both lubricating and antibacterial properties. Untreated wax buildup can lead to hearing loss, irritation, pain in the ear, dizziness, or ringing in the ears.
You don’t need to clean the wax out of your ears unless you have an abnormal condition. Your ears naturally push the excess wax out as required. However, if you have an earwax blockage, you’ll want to have it professionally removed.
If you’re battling with your hearing, contact Butlin Hearing for a hearing screening, a comprehensive hearing test, or new hearing device.
